A pilot project aimed at encouraging Aboriginal youth to complete high school and pursue careers in accounting is taking place at three Ontario high schools. At a Toronto news conference in November 2008, Chief Gary Allan, Treaty Three, The Right Honourable Paul Martin and Kevin Dancey, FCA, President and CEO, Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), officially announced the innovative mentoring project which will take place at two schools in Brantford and one in Fort Frances.
